The Forefathers Monument

May 31, 2016 by JD Leave a Comment

Psalm 33:12a KJV - Christian Devotion
A visit to the National Monument to the Forefathers in Plymouth, Massachusetts (Thanksgiving 2014)

Have you ever seen–or heard of–the National Monument to the Forefathers? It seems to be tucked away in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Plymouth, Massachusetts. This monument is comprised of numerous statues, the most prominent is Faith. Around the monument, you’ll find Morality, Law, Education, and Liberty.

As the nation honored our fallen heroes yesterday, we also remembered our forefathers, the Pilgrims, and their heroic efforts that contributed to the birth of our nation. They built the Forefathers Monument and embedded it with so much wisdom; it’s quite sad that it’s just tucked away without adequate lighting like its other counterparts.

As Christians, let us not hide our Light “under a bushel”–we’re going to “let it shine”!

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:16 KJV

This verse is also a great reminder:

But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 10:33 KJV

Let us remember to pray for our country, our leaders, and our next generation, and remember…

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

Psalm 33:12a KJV

“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine!”

Take action: Ask God to show you how you can let your light shine for Him today! If you’ve been thinking about letting God be the Light of your life, now is the perfect time to take care of that. This page shows you how you can have God’s Light shine in your heart, in your life, today!
