Have you ever gone parasailing? During our trip to Hawai’i earlier this year, we leisurely watched from our hotel balcony as a bunch of people took turns to go up on this parasail. They were soaring high along the waters of Waikiki! Bet they even saw whales–or dolphins–like I did way back during this same time of the year in February. Anyway, as you can probably tell from the photo, it was a beautiful day! We’re really hoping to see similar blue Floridian skies this weekend 😉
This photo reminds me of the verse,
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 KJV
Wow! We can be soaring high like eagles!
It doesn’t matter what our situation may be. We can soar high like eagles, run and not be weary, and walk and not faint–regardless of what may be looming over our heads–as long as we are waiting on the LORD! He will give us the courage and strength!
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalm 27:14 KJV
Today, I am reminded that feeling down, discouraged, fearful, or anxious just means that I am simply not waiting on the LORD. As we all know, there’s no such thing as part-time waiting. Either we’re all in, or we’re not. We can’t have one foot maintain its position while the other one sets off to get ahead of God. This acrobatic stunt is sure to get us exhausted and beaten down!
As this week comes to a close, let us remember to be still, wait faithfully on the Lord, and not be tempted to get ahead of Him. Let us soar high with wings as eagles and enjoy the day He has freely given us. Today is a beautiful day and another opportunity to bring glory back to Him! We will rejoice and be glad in it!!!
Application
Don’t let fear or worry ruin the blessings that God has given you today. Surrender your fears and worries to Him and rejoice in this beautiful day that He has made!
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24 KJV
Take action: If you’re feeling troubled or experiencing worry, fear, or anxiety, take a look at Psalm 27 KJV and find strength in the Lord. This page shows you how to invite Him into your life so He can carry you through the storms of life.
