It’s Hungry Friday, again! Time flies when you’re having fun! How’s your Summer coming along? We’ve been busy reorganizing and cleaning our home after having to move a bunch of stuff out of our other-home-now-rental-property. Merging stuff from two homes can be quite the undertaking and we may have even had a brain lapse as we entertained the thought of getting a 2-acre farm just yesterday (as if we didn’t have enough on our plate)! Anyway, back to reality and back to Hungry Friday!!! We decided to switch out the entrée with an appetizer this week since we’ve been on “snacking mode” lately (more like, portion control so we eat less but more often–to stay powered up during our big move).
Let’s take a look at these deliciously mouthwatering creations by some of our favorite foodie bloggers!
Hungry Friday – Week #13
Here’s what’s on the Hungry Friday Yummy Board:
- Chocolate & Banana Smoothie | by Andrew at Scrappy Geek
- Chicken Avocado Club Wontons | by Bernie at A Gouda Life
- Dark Chocolate Banana Pops | by yours truly
- Funfetti Cupcakes | by Patty at The PKP Way
Summer Beverage
Cool off with this refreshing Chocolate & Banana Smoothie (with a hint of hazelnut) by Andrew at Scrappy Geek! There’s just something about adding a touch of hazelnut flavor to a refreshing smoothie (or coffee–hot, iced, or blended). Mmmmm…. good!
Appetizer
Bernie over at A Gouda Life made these scrumptious Chicken Avocado Club Wontons. We love how she used a mini muffin tin and baked them! Oh, and did you notice that it’s topped with Sriracha Ranch dressing? This would be awesome to make and take along to parties, get-togethers, picnics, etc.
Frozen Treat
Here’s an oldie but goodie: our very own version of Dark Chocolate Banana Pops! As we all know, it’s been super hot (and muggy over here in Florida) and our kids just can’t seem to get enough of all kinds of frozen treats. Can’t blame them, though. Then again, this frozen treat is something they enjoy having year-round!
Snack
With so many birthdays happening in our family this Summer, we couldn’t resist picturing ourselves making these Funfetti Cupcakes by Patty at The PKP Way. She shared a recipe for two and you can easily adjust to make more! We love the colors (and cupcake wrapper), and ya bet it’s even more delicious than it looks, because she made them softer, fluffier, and jazzed up with Funfetti!
What’s been keeping you busy in the kitchen lately?
Have a Happy Hungry Friday and an awesomely terrific weekend!
