I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:1 KJV
Hello, Christian!! I’m back!! Just popped in to give God, our Father in Heaven, all the praise and Glory He deserves as this is my reasonable service! I only have a short story for you today before I share the “Daily in the Word” for the week.
I want to ask you to reflect on your life as a child of God and remember a time when you realized that God is magnificently merciful. Let us briefly recall that the definition of mercy is “not receiving what we deserve”.
Last night, my family and I set off on a drive on a busy I-75 and Turnpike. The traffic was a nightmare: we were crawling along for miles on the road counting the tire rotations as we gazed at the toll slowly approaching (which was 2 miles ahead). Thirty minutes into the two-mile crawl, our youngest (Baby 4.0) woke up and began to protest. His protests grew much louder with each tire revolution….
It was time to go back…
We managed to turn around.
Heading back the way we came, the protests continued and the ride began to feel bumpy–but hey, we were in a rush to placate our disgruntled baby! No one noticed that the ride was slowly getting bumpier and there went unnoticed a sound like a rubber flange flapping in the wind. Twenty-two miles later at our exit, we made it…
Phew….
Baby fell asleep and the new silence was interrupted with a loud “clunk, clunk” which all the passengers assumed was a loose door. I got out of the car and checked the back, retrieving a bag of chips as I ensured the door was closed tightly.
“The tire!!” A voice in the back of my mind shouted!
I pulled over to the nearest gas station only to find it shady and crawling with strange-looking, suspicious people that could easily cause harm to a family of six. In short, we drove off without pumping any air into the tires.
Praise the Lord, we made it home! Pulling into the garage, I would have never suspected to see what I found after checking the tires: the right passenger tire was as flat as a pancake!
We were riding on the rim!!
Praise be to God for being faithful and merciful to us by getting us home without a tire blowout or accident.
The blessing began with the traffic on the freeway that prevented us from going the rest of the 60+ miles we had left to our original destination. It continued with allowing us a way to turn around in traffic and getting us home without incident. He also gave us provision as I just so happened to have a can of fix-o-flat in the garage for use.
The Scripture “His mercy endureth for ever” in the book of Psalms resonates with me today as I reflect on this amazing experience. Praise be to God almighty!
I hope you, too, remember how God has been good to you through His mercy. Praise the Lord, and God bless you!!

Thank God, the Lord had to redirect my eyes. I’ve been following your eye-catching pictures posts only. This is my first time to go to your Reflections posts; I’m glad I did, it was a great blessing to my soul! As I was reading it I was also having my own reflections of the incident which happened to me very recently. That night I went to bed peacefully, but from my deep sleep I was awakened by a loud noise and the weight of a hard something. that fell on me. Surprisingly I was not hurt, and no damage at all on the contents of that shelf that fell on me ! My heart kept singing, My God is good, my God is good, He is good to me!
