We’re super excited to finally share some pictures of our Standard Goldendoodle puppies with you, now that they’ve been a part of our family for 6 weeks. The timing of their arrival couldn’t have been better, following the passing of our Miniature Schnauzer of 10 years, on March 3rd. Our three (yes, three!) puppies finally got their final set of shots (including their rabies shot) yesterday, and we’ve never been so ready to take them out on adventures! Before we get too carried away, allow us to share 6 health benefits of dog ownership based on our recent experience with our new puppies!
6 Health Benefits Of Dog Ownership
Unless you and/or other family members living in your home are allergic to dogs (especially pet dander), owning a dog can bring many benefits that you can reap starting from the very moment you decide to bring him/her home.
In as short as 6 weeks, we were able to observe at least 6 immediate health benefits of dog ownership, since having owned our 3 F1bb Standard Goldendoodle puppies! Please note that this post does not constitute any medical advice whatsoever. As always, please consult with your medical provider for guidance as it specifically relates to your health condition.
Dogs can help reduce stress
Just imagine coming home to this bundle of fluff after a long, exhausting, and stressful day at work! According to a study by the British Journal of Health (2004), dog owners have been found to have lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, and fewer heart attacks. Dog owners also have the added benefit of having fewer medical problems than those without pets.
Dogs can be great fitness buddies
Whether you’re already physically active or looking to get more active, dogs can be great fitness buddies! They’re a great source of motivation to just get movin’!
Dogs can make play dates more fun
Play dates with li’l hoomans are just as fun as play dates with other furries! Of course, this is always done with supervision 😉
Dogs can boost your mood
It doesn’t take much to realize how dogs help to boost your mood–even something as simple as watching them play together can be fun and entertaining! Did you know that playing with your dog raises your brain’s levels of dopamine and serotonin? These big words are the neurotransmitters that are associated with pleasure and tranquility.
Dogs can offer a great lesson on patience
Actually, dogs can offer MANY a great lesson on patience! Whether you’re learning to practice lots and lots of patience while training them or you’re quite impressed by their level of patience and self-control, you can always count on gleaning a valuable lesson from your furry friend! Some parents even confess that their dogs are more obedient and patient than their children! No comment.
Dogs can help improve your social life
Last but certainly not the least… it’s amazing how many “new” people we’ve met (just in our neighborhood alone) since the day we brought our F1bb Standard Goldendoodle puppies home! Our puppies have certainly expanded our social circle, to include other dog owners in the community. We’re making new friends while they’re also making new friends! As a matter of fact, our Standard Goldendoodle puppies seem to be everypawdy’s best furrr-iend (hooman or otherwise)!
This is certainly not an exhaustive list of the many benefits that we’ve experienced firsthand in the recent weeks (6, to be exact).
Now, it’s your turn! Maybe you’ve long been considering getting a new puppy / dog for the family. We hope our 6 health benefits of dog ownership will help you get closer to a decision that’s best for your family.
