Time is flying right on by! It wasn’t long ago when we had just started doing our countdown to The Big Game. Feels just like yesterday when we threw our first football party of the year, and suddenly, it’s February! The Big Game is pretty much here… and we’ve got one more Game Day Party to plan (despite our team not making it)! Who do you think is going to win?
Game Day Party Hacks and Tips
If you’re looking to throw an easy, last-minute game day party, you’re in the right place for some easy party planning inspiration!
1. Serve some sliders–and make it all about the sliders!
Have you ever thought of doing an End Zone Slider Bar? If we could get away with it, we’d probably be serving sliders at every party (since they’re so simple and easy to make + they taste really great)!
2. Combine tried and tested flavors with a splash of fresh ingredients.
As if the combination of Sloppy Joe and meatloaf flavors wasn’t enough to make the easiest, most flavorful slider burgers, we also included 4 hassle-free toppings which our guests could choose from:
- Pico De Gallo (store-bought)
- Cajun fries (store-bought)
- Fresh avocado (from Walmart’s fresh produce section)
- Fresh mango (from Walmart’s fresh produce section)
We really think that Pico De Gallo + fresh avocado + fresh mango = bliss, especially when used as toppings for Sloppy Joe Meatloaf Sliders! Try it 🙂
3. Break the mold!
Making burger patties from scratch has never been our favorite past-time! Recently, we discovered an awesome shortcut to making slider burger patties by using a muffin tin! No more flipping, turning, or–in some cases–scraping stuff off of the pan! Making batches of slider burger patties for parties has never been easier! You’ll see how we used a muffin tin for our Sloppy Joe Meatloaf Sliders later on in this post.
4. Add a little “sunshine” to the dinner rolls.
We chose the “Yeasty Rolls” from Walmart and brushed a little bit of “buttery sunshine” on each side. Then, we lightly browned each side on a pan over medium heat for 2 minutes. Doing this adds a nice, crispy texture and buttery taste to the dinner rolls!
5. Save on clean-up time with the right combination of paper goods and hassle-free decorations.
From astroturf paper bowls to diner-style checkered wax paper, paper goods no longer have to look boring (or rushed)! As for the party decorations, we like to keep things simple: we just threw in a little bit of football flare blended with some elements of classic vintage (yay for marquee lights!), and we’ve got ourselves a smashing tablescape in a matter of minutes!
So, are you ready for the super easy recipe for the Sloppy Joe Meatloaf Sliders? Anyone can make ’em! 🙂
Recipe: Sloppy Joe Meatloaf Sliders
There’s nothing sloppy about this sloppy joe! The trick (or hack) is to make the sloppy joe meatloaf patties in a regular-sized muffin tin! We’ll share the details (and photos) in just a sec, so keep on reading!
Servings: 24 small patties
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Bake Time: 55 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
Ingredients:
These are the ingredients for making the slider burger patties:
- 1 15 oz can MANWICH Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 large eggs
- 2 pcs dinner rolls (from Walmart’s bakery bread section)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F while gathering all ingredients together
- Roughly chop up the dinner rolls and combine with the rest of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl
- Line standard muffin tin with unbleached baking cups (for easy cleanup, later) and scoop 1 heaping tablespoon of the mixture into the spaces (you can loosely fill the spaces up to the top with the mixture as long as you do not press or flatten it)
- Bake in the center rack for 55 minutes or until internal temperature of the burger patties reaches 160°F
- Serve slider burgers on dinner rolls
If you’re ready to make a shopping list, here’s the scoop:
We picked up a 15 oz can of MANWICH Original Sloppy Joe Sauce and ground beef from Walmart, along with the bakery bread (yeasty rolls), and fresh produce (mangoes and avocados). We found the pre-made Pico De Gallo over by the fresh produce section, too, near all of the refrigerated vegetables.
For us, a can of MANWICH + fresh bakery bread + fresh produce + muffin tin hack + hassle-free decorations = easy game day party planning!
