Exuding Brilliance

Matthew 5:16 KJV - Christian Devotion

Ever heard the saying that the light will reveal your true colors? Hmmmm… that got me thinking. Will our lives exude brilliance when exposed to God’s light?

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Ephesians 5:13 KJV

What if…

What if the light was coming from within us, instead? What if we allowed God (Who is Light) to abide in our hearts?

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

John 1:6-8 KJV

If that Light is abiding within us, then we, too, can be a witness of that Light. Not only will we exude brilliant colors but also a brilliant light that others can and will see, by the way we live our lives.

We no longer have to worry about being exposed to the light because we are now carriers of the true Light.

When we allow sin to set in, we blow out the light.

When we resort to what we want to do instead of what God wants us to do, we are blowing out the light.

We then stop making an eternal impact on the lives of others.

We stop bearing fruit.

We stop exuding brilliance.

Thankfully, He is gracious and merciful, and is always ready to forgive.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 KJV

He will never turn His back on those who seek Him… on those who seek the Light.

Something to ponder: Are we seeking the Light or avoiding it?

It’s never too late to seek the Light.

Take action: Let’s constantly seek God’s Light in our lives and ask Him to light up our life to make an impact on others and bring glory to Him. If you would like to have God’s Light in your life, this page shows you how.
