The countdown has begun–not just for the New Year but also for–you guessed it–the Super Bowl! You’ve probably heard some of the cheering and roaring already happening in your neighborhood–either that or you’ve been noticing the increasing number of vehicles parked on the side of the road. Needless to say, game day parties are well underway and it’s probably going to be a whole lot louder as we get closer to the Super Bowl 50 in February! If you’re looking to throw a party this year, we’re here to inspire you with some DIY football party decorations and ideas (along with some free digital cut files for your Cricut Explore Air)!
DIY Football Party Decorations
If you want to know more about how we styled our party table, take a look at our game day partyscape! In the meantime, we wanted to give you a head start with these DIY Football Party Decorations.
Paper Football Helmets
These football helmets (from Cricut Design Space) are our favorite thus far. We made them with our Cricut Machine using black card stock, silver metallic paper (for one team), and textured gold foil paper (for the other team). We really liked how they turned out, just take a look at this food pick!
Floating Image Cut Files
We opted not to use a party banner or bunting for this party and instead used our Cricut Explore Air to print out the floating images we designed in Google Draw. We hung the Super Bowl 50 cut-out on one of the trays to give it a hanging / floating effect. Meanwhile, the other cut file, “The Countdown Begins”, looks like the letters are popping right out.
We shared the free digital cut files at the bottom of this post for both “Super Bowl 50” and “The Countdown Begins”. Please keep in mind that we’re sharing a PNG file (not an SVG file), so please follow the instructions in Cricut Design Space for uploading PNG files. In addition, you will need to add your own score lines (depending on the size of your project) in Cricut Design Space (or you can simply fold the paper manually by hand or by using a scoring board and bone folder).
Anyway, we hope we’ve inspired you with some DIY football party decorations and ideas! Check back for the full party tutorial in an upcoming post!
