Our 3 (yes, three!) Labradoodle puppies have now been a part of our family for 11 weeks–they’re now 21 weeks young! It’s been a blast–never a dull moment, for sure! If you’re wondering what life with 3 puppies is like, you’ll probably want to take a peek into the highlights of our daily routine with our puppies!
Our Daily Routine With Our Puppies
Meal Time
It’s quite clear that meal time is the highlight of this foodie’s day! He’s got a heartier appetite than his two sisters, and he always loves to inspect packages of all kinds–including his favorite Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® DISH dog food (we chose the DISH Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe for our puppies but it’s also available in DISH Beef & Brown Rice Recipe).
Savings Alert: Right now, you can save $4.00 off of Nutrish DISH with this coupon–it’s good through this year, and you can print it out 2x! Please note that this coupon is not applicable online, so you will need to make your purchase in-store. We purchased ours at Target.
Nutrish DISH is safely USA cooked with the world’s best ingredients–using whole ingredients and real U.S. farm raised chicken or beef as the first ingredient.
Wearing bandanas is part of our puppies’ meal time routine. Besides being stylish (yay for the puparazzi!), it’s also functional in that it keeps the crumbs and water from getting all over their chest. Our Labradoodles’ coat mats very easily, and depending on the dog’s eating habits, things can get quite messy–especially with Mochi, our male pup. He buries his whole face into the bowl!
Daily Grooming
We comb / brush our labradoodles’ coat at least once a day, finishing off with a lavender spray. A metal comb is an inexpensive way to inspect for mats / small knots before and after they go out for a walk or a romp in the backyard. Don’t they look all fresh, clean, and FLOOOOFFFFY?
Daily Exercise
Moderate exercise is important for these pups, so they get to enjoy play time in the backyard with us at least two times a day. It’s really funny and interesting to watch their individual game dynamics–it’s true what they say, Labradoodles have a good sense of humor! One of them tried to retrieve and bury the fetch toy! Another enjoys hide and seek between the bushes… and another loves to play king (queen) of the hill!
After work, the puppies enjoy a walk in the park or around the neighborhood! We have quite a few doodle dogs in our neighborhood so an afternoon / early evening walk can quickly turn into a doodle play date (or meetup)!
But first, belly rubs…
Night time is for grooming odds and ends, including their dental hygiene… but first, belly rubs. They looooove belly rubs! It calms them down and makes them agreeable to teeth cleaning. We also brush off any outdoor debris caught by their coat.
Now, it’s time for bed! Who doesn’t love a clean and comfy bed, especially when you lay your bed on top of your sister’s?! Oh, the sibling life…
Do you have any new pups at home or do you remember what it was like? Maybe you’re expecting to receive new pups in the near future. It never gets old, and… they grow up so fast!
What are some of your daily routine faves with your pup? Our favorite is the DIY meal time foodie bandana… it’s made from repurposed dinner napkins which happened to match our favorite Nutrish DISH colors!
Don’t forget to use this coupon when you buy your bag of Nutrish DISH for your dog(s)!
Very important: When transitioning your dog / puppy to a new dog food, gradually introduce the food by incorporating it into your current dog food over the course of 7-10 days. Slowly replace your dog’s current food with DISH until it’s completely switched over.
