Last year, we took our family to the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, to honor those who had laid down their lives for our freedom. As the deluge fell, friends, loved ones, and family also came out to pour their hearts and love. They sacrificed all for our sake.
Let us take the time to thank God for these service members and their families–their sacrifice, their courage and perseverance–and let us not take our freedom for granted. Our freedom clearly comes at a price, and this photo shows but a small fraction of that price.
So much so, let us also thank God for our missionary heroes–for they, too, have persevered and sacrificed all so that we may hear about Christ. Likewise, Christ sacrificed all so that we may receive His gift of salvation so that we may be free from the bondage of sin.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV
There are many who have sacrificed all so that we can enjoy the many blessings that we have today. We are recipients of this beautiful grace. We are very blessed! Let us not take our blessings for granted.
Take action: Take a moment to pray for the families of our fallen heroes. Remember to thank God for the freedom we continue to enjoy in our country. If you haven’t yet received God’s beautiful gift of grace–the gift of His Son–this page shows you how you can receive Him in your heart today.
