Look at these beautiful rocks! They have so much character! They seem to possess a different beauty depending on the season, the time of day, and the lighting cast by the sun. On some occasions, you might just catch them glistening as the waves and light meet.
I took this photo on a gloomy day, close to sunset. I paused to think about my own gloomy days–you know, those days when I feel as if the job God has called me to do isn’t making much progress either due to life’s curve balls, direct attacks by the Enemy, etc. That’s the thing–I think it isn’t making much progress. But, it isn’t based on my yard stick, is it? It’s based on God’s standards. He has assured me to keep on doing His work as my efforts are not in vain in His eyes.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
I Corinthians 15:58 KJV
My dear friend, if you’re feeling the same way, renew your mind immediately and rejoice that your work matters in God’s eyes. Let’s fix our eyes on Him and not on our own results. Let’s be faithful to what He has called us to do.
Application
What we do for God–no matter how great or small–matters to Him.
Take action: Think about a missionary, a pastor, a Sunday School worker, and their families. Let’s take a moment to pray for them according to Colossians 1:10-11 KJV: “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;” If you haven’t been to church lately, we encourage you to visit one this Sunday! You matter to God and He wants to receive you as one of His own. This page shows you how you can be God’s child today.
