The week flew by just like that. It was busy, it was rough–as if the Enemy wanted to discourage us so that we’ll lose sight of God’s blessings. By God’s grace, His blessings also came in a downpour this week. Which should we rather focus on? The challenges or the blessings? How about this… should we focus more on the blessings or on the One Who provided those blessings?
Regardless if your week has been filled with challenges or blessings or both, let’s not lose sight of the One Who loves us.
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Hebrews 13:15 KJV
Christ loves us so much that He gave Himself for us “as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour” (Ephesians 5:2 KJV). As if that’s not enough, He chooses to continue to bless us, in spite of us… because He loves us. He also wants us to follow His example, to “walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us”. The admonition on following God continues on in the rest of the verses in Ephesians 5.
The book of John also talks about love,
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
John 15:12-14 KJV
How has God moved your heart to have a beautiful aroma, to “love one another” today? How can we be more Christlike and offer Him “an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour”?
